Hi there Trek Madone owners.

Have any of you experienced issues with sideways movement on your Madone's seat post? Particularly the models that have the ISO SPEED feature underneath the top tube.

I'm contemplating buying a Madone SLR7 but found a disconcerting article on the web, about the seat post on these models, giving issues. (see this link:https://www.trainerroad.com/forum/t/madone-slr-seatpost-isospeed-help/21469)

I'd appreciate your honest objective feedback

Thanks folks

I had a 2020 SL6 a d there was definitely some side to side play. It was mostly undetectable when riding though.

With the clamp8ng system being a fore-aft expander rather than an actual clamp there was always the risk of sideways play. That coupled with less than perfect tolerance on seat mast/seat tube meant almost inevitable.

That said I would still own it if I hadn't been forced to ride a other brand. The Madone is a great bike.

i have the 2019 Madone SLR.

no issues on my side at all.

that said i am a smaller rider and the seatpost is not overly high so the leverage is not massive.

i have my ISO set to the softest setting.

i ride it and race it(VA) like that.

buy one. they are the most comfortable planted bike you will ever ride.

Thanks man. The shop is irritating me. It's 90% there but all of Denmark is on summer holidays so I can't finish it!

Answering the weight issue. I'm 82kg on a size 60cm so perhaps more flex/movement cos of that.
