Wic2 Posted November 2, 2020 Share I travel alot and always have a labtop with me for mail, photo's/video, bikehub and basic work stuff. So its time for a new HP. I do not want to change the brand. The problem is that consumer / entry level products is difficult to rate if you do not have all the knowledge and experience. So I'm possibly looking at the following options and need some input on the following: - product value vs price- is the processor ok? vs other that HP uses- Screen size either 14" or 15"- Any recommendations in the HP range- Should I look for a better price and where?- and yes - how log is a piece of rope, but any advice would be great. zaslayer Posted November 2, 2020 Share They are both exactly the same thing and ticks all your boxes, well in terms of hp anyway.. Your only question left, is whether or not you want to pay the extra money to get an extra inch of screen real estate..
Bateleur1 Posted November 2, 2020 Share What price range would a HP Elitebook go for? I bought one here in Germany a year ago for 1200€. It is a bit stronger than what you have speced with I7 processor 32 Gb Ram and 1 Tb SSD among others but I am super happy with this machine. Wic2 Posted November 3, 2020 Share For a Elitebook with 512SSD only and the rest about the same it is R 50,139 - no wonder you are super happy. But that again is the wonders of our wonderful Rand.
Bateleur1 Posted November 3, 2020 Share Almost chocked on my headset when I read that. I saw here Elitebooks with 8 GB Ram and 256 Gb SSD going for just over 800€ which converted to Rand would be 16-17 K. But that 50 K is a bit rough. Ok I just happen to look and I lied, I paid 1800€ but still not close to the 50 K you saw there. The i5 is not bad but I would maybe look at 16 Gb Ram. Screen size is also relative. I have a fairly small screen (I think 14") but the advantage is that the laptop is small, compact and light. The bigger the screen the more space you need in your backpack. I have a further 3 monitors connected to the laptop and two are 27" and the other 24".
