If you really want to do it the easy way the just use a Sonoff SV and connect the relay to the button on a spare remote. My gate and garage are both controlled off the same remote with a dual relay.

We have a really long driveway so wifi doesnt reach the gate motor and the next easiest solution was to hijack a remote.

This is a great solution if the Wifi doesn't reach to the gate motor  :thumbup:

i did both my gate and garage with this method.

my switches looked different but the concept is the same - i used a dremel to cut my board.

alternatively but the R600 switch that is made for gates and garages.

this has actually given me an idea.

I have the wiring running from the intercom to the gate, I can use this method and instead of the sonoff sitting by the gate I can have it inside the house and let it use the intercom wires to trigger the gate.

that is exactly how i have it wired.

and with android auto i now just ask google to open and close the garage and gate
