Are they riding tubbies? 

 

But from the 'cross I've been watching, these guys make it look so easy. MvdP puts the power down and leaves everyone in his wake. 

Pretty much all tubbies, ja.

 

You get a much more consistent tire size/width with tubbies and their wheels are measured. 33mm at the widest point.

 

Cross definitely isn't easy! hahaha
