MTB tyres ! Confused !!

I have a brand new set of ignitors lying in my garage that i rode with only once for 50 kays' date=' they're 2.35's though, gimme 300 bux for both...

On the topic at hand, i love my small block eights in our current dryish winter conditions, but crap in summer in the mud, in which case my nevegals rock, but yup, *** rolling resistance. Gonna give tubeless takkies on my new XC steed a try, Conti mountain kings, apparently they're excellent tyres.

Anybody seen the price of schwalbe tyres lately...? Set of ralphs is gonna set you back like 800 S.A. rondts... Crazy...

Thanks MTBlist. But those are to wide for my frame. Ask Thug, the 06 Santa Cruz can not take such wide tyres. Thanks, it would have been great.

What about Mountain Kings on the front and Speed Kings on the back?

Haven't seen a speed king, how vast is the difference between the 2...? Heard the mntn kings roll nice and are decent in pretty much all conditions... What i'd really kill for is a set of nobby nick's with the red sidewalls that come on the '09 Cannondale Rize Carbon 1... You'll see why when the pix of my fiets go up tomorrow...

I would say the otherway round.  Mountain King or Race King at the back with a  Speed King on the front.

So it looks like its going to come down to price factor !

Mountain Kings (USt), best i could find R500 a tyre

Nevegal and Karma (UST) about R380 a tyre

Must say I have repaired a sidewall in a UST tyre with a needle and dental floss (added a patch inside as well) then redone the tubeless. No problem. Seemed a hell of a waste to toss a nearly new Killer Bee just cause of a 15mm sidewall cut but then again I'm a bit of a miser as some already know ..........

One tyre nobody has mentioned yet is the brillaint "WTB Weirwolf". Very hard to come by though (got mine at Mikes Bikes) but they are fantastic. Better than my Crossmarks i had before. The Crossmarks are tough and very good on hard pack but they're dangerous on anything elseDead

Proberbly because they weigh over 700g a tyre.
