KCNC Disk brakes, are they any good?

I am looking at converting my project bike to disc brakes.  Cost wise the KCNC is a bargain but are they any good?  Does anybody ride them?<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

 

What other entry level disc brakes would you recommend and were can I find them?  I hear good thinks of the Furmula Oro?s but can?t find them as after market products.

YOu don't need anything better the Juicy 5s. Look in the classified. They've got a a set there for R1500 or something.

What brake pads do the KCNC's use? Might have issues getting them?

Adult world or Hustler Xtreme do not sell bicycle disk pads. Try the others.

They use standard hayes pads. Brakes work okay. Feels a little stiff and tends to leak. Personally I'd go for deore.

I ride KCNC discs, 160mm back and 180mm in the front. 160mm Front felt a bit spongy so I changed it to 180mm.

 

They are brilliant value for the money. I used Deore Mechanicals before these and handsdown a great upgrade.
