CAAD4 Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 I want to buy a set of Tubeless wheels for my MTB. I quite like the Fulcrum Red Metal 3's. Does any one have any experience or feed back from using Fulcrum MTB wheels?Are there any other wheels I should look at for around R 4k?

Racer X Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 There's nothing wrong with the Fulcrums other than the weight. At 1853g they are pretty heafty. Look at Shimano's XT wheelset. They come in at 1650 gram mark and are roughly the same price. They are also tubeless ready. Personally I would reccomend that you go for a a Shimano XT hub/ ZTR Olympics laced to Dt revs. They will be around 4.5K and tubeless ready. As custom set up you can also get spares easily. They can also be upgrared with new skewers and Ti XTR casssette bodies and axle kits.

I already have XT hubs on my existing wheels, so then this could work out quite reasonably. I see you are in KZN, any idea where I could explore this option further in Gauteng?
