That to me is the toffee finger to you, as they didn't have the want to fix it when you raised the flag the first, second and (perhaps) third times. Bring reputation into it and they jump hurdles to create a cure

Me, I'd never go back. Much easier to talk through your wallet, or lack there of, for the retail store

It's often the case that the store staff are low paid workers who don't really give a toss about the brand. So when social media is involved it's escalated higher or, in this case, the owner sees it.

 

But I agree with your sentiment - frustrating that things have to be brought on social platforms to get the right people involved.
