there is another Kenyan connected to the TdF and cycling (I think he may be a commentator?)

I think it's there's a guy from Bacen Fassa (okay' date=' that country does not exist but there is one that sounds almost the same) that does the time board on the back of the motorbike.

Paul Sherwan owns  a farm in Kenya... On the first couple of stages' date=' he mentioned Froome at every opportunity...

Don't you read the replies to your questions?

Sherwan:

During the Tour de France' date=' Sherwen commentates for ITV, Versus, Australia's SBS Network and the United States' CBS Sports with Phil Liggett. Sherwen resides with his family on the Ugandan/Kenyan border in a small town called Busia, in which he operates a gold mine.[3']

Sherwen often speaks of the "suitcase of courage".

I imagine Froome is racing on a British license because he can and because it means that then he does not need a work permit.  The problem with that is that he is not eligible for World's as Kenyan, so I'm not sure it was a great move.

I don't think just having a kenyan license would have let him ride worlds anyway... Countries get allocated a number of slots at worlds according to the number of UCI points they have... As one lonely little kenyan, he probably wouldn't have accumulated enough points anyway...

I reckon he stands a good chance of making the pom team if not this year, then next, and then he will actually have a chance of contributing...

Kenya doesn't qualify.  That's why they were at the World B champs last year, where CF won the silver in TT.

Did we ever offer him a Passport and Lic?

In other words did the SACF at least try to offer this talented guy who did most of he's racing in SA a oppertunity to become a SA rider?

Did I ask if he wanted to be a Saffa???

No I only wanted to know if we at least made a effort to get him.

I am sure home affairs would have been delighted to have assisted the CSA to convince him to to renounce his various citzenships and then issue him with a RSA passport and ID documents, pronto.  After all it is a matter of national interest to have three Saffa's in the TdF.....

I am sure he would have loved to become a citizen of a country, who's official policy is to discriminate against people like him, when selecting national teams.

Wait, my coffee is cold, and I have awaken from my dreams.

That is sarcasm for you.Big%20smileWink
