Remember Vino made a big thing about it saying how upset he was he could not start, because, "he" was not implicated in Puerto.!!

After the Puerto affair, Astana had too few riders unaffected (substitutions not allowed after a certain point). Ulrich and Basso (T-Mobile and CSC) were also withdrawn before the start but their teams still competed despite not starting with 9 riders. Would definitely cause a major problem if there is a team TT where the time is taken off the 5th rider I think - this is probably why whenever there is a team TT this happens early in the race. Think the team competition is based on the times of the top 3 riders in each stage. Think BW might drop down dramatically if they need to use Hunter and Cooke's time when they hit the Alps!!! Clearly if you don't have 3 riders finishing a stage you will be eliminated from the Team competition....MarkD2008-07-16 11:34:13
