Hi

So long story short, my garmin is busted and i dont want to rush into a new device purchase without doing sufficient reading - don't exactly have free money laying around

I want to use my cellphone as an interim solution and scanning around for training apps that can connect to power meters. Most of the free stuff will work with HR but I am a data geek and been training with power for a while now and almost feel like i cant ride without it.

Came across this app
Cadence - Run and Bike Tracker App for iPhone and Android (getcadence.app)

They have 3 different packages.

- Free - no better than anything else on the market (cant train with Power)

- Pro - R52 a month or R350 pa (can train with power)

- Elite - R105 a month or R700 pa.

The Pro option is fairly cheap and wouldn't mind spending 2 cups of coffee a month for a interim solution.

My question to the hub is, has anyone ever tried this out?

I have not used cadence. I used to use cyclemeter before i bought my garmin.

just checking quickly now, they do offer support for power meters

I was pretty happy with the app when I used to use it.

thanks, i will have a look at this option

Edit: I see the paid version allows for power meter and its cheaper than Cadence.
Thanks for this info

using Cadence app Elite for the past 2 rides with an old iPhone X … simply blows any new cycle computer away

battery life is obviously an issue but I set the screen to autodim after 30 secs with just a touch necessary to brighten it again

maps and navigation  on a whole other level compared to even the  latest and most expensive bike Gps  … super bright screen , responsive and all sorts of maps available even offline including satellite maps

infinitely customizable, works with any bluetooth add-ons , really impressive with the Garmin Varia radar

the only downside is it obviously doesn’t integrate with Ant+ hence no AXS gearing info… but really who cares

Anyone else using it?
