Shimano Dura Ace ST 7900 Right STI not shifting down

Hi. My right hand STI stopped shifting down gears. The problem seems to be that the "arm" inside the STI does not return when I shift up so there is no "clicking" when you want to shift down. If I manually move it backwards, then I can shift down. Could it be that the spring is broken. I have cleaned everything properly, so it is not that.

I am the first person to start fiddling with stuff myself, but some things are best left to the professionals.. I think this is one of them..😳🤣🤣

Have you checked the inner cable? Mine got really trashed near the shifter that in my case delayed downshifts....long shot but try it?

Agree with the post above, you open a shifter at your peril.

Thanks guys. Definitely not the cable. From the video I can see that it must be the spring on top that is not moving the little arm back

Before you strip the spring out check that the plastic cable guide that leads the cable to the outside of the shifter and into the housing is not loose or damaged.  It shouldn't move when you shift.
