Kobie Posted February 18 Share Hi. I am looking for a spring for down shifting like the one in the picture. I managed to get this broken one out and is confident to replace it myself. Problem is I don't see this part listed on the Simano website. Would this be available somewhere or should I advertise to get a second hand one to strip
letsride Posted February 18 Share hi Kobie, these spares aren't available from Shimano, you will have to source another shifter to strip spares from or find an alternative shifter.
Frosty Posted February 18 Share I have a used, but fully functional, shifter available, if you want to arrange a deal. Send me a PM. Not mint condition, not like-new.
Kobie Posted February 18 Share Hi. I did source an Ultegra which is now on the bike, but would like to fix this one for a spare. Thanks though.
Andymann Posted February 19 Share As someone who restores old motorbikes with unobtanium parts I have had a few springs made at Weblor Springs in Edenvale. Even a few custom springs where I crudely bent a piece of wire and asked them to replicate it. It might be too small for them, of if it isn't, you might need to accept that you will need to order a minimum of 20 possibly, but If it was me, I would take a drive out to them with the sample and see what they say. STARCO springs is another one you might try - they made us a clock spring for one of our old Drilling machines here and it was perfect.
