Spafsack Posted April 17 Share A hardtail is always awesome when you need to put down instant power for a sprint, or getting away from a chasing dog. Since i got my Scott wc that Tri Lock must be [for me] the best lock out system ever. Once it is locked out, my bike basically feels like a hardtail. I often do long road sections, or long road uphill's, locked out, way more efficient in my view, or for me. I know i am not really answering your question. But i am not really sure what you want. A hardtail though is so much fund, even a locked out dual cant replicate it, but as i said, if its about saving weight, not really sure the way forward for you [excuse the pun] Phillippe Coetzee

But appreciate your input, every bit helps

For speed, weight and service cost, get a roadbike. For comfort, get a DS. For funnest fun, HT. Phillippe Coetzee
