Advice on the right long travel bike

Glad you mentioned Intense... loving my Tracer 279.

I'd say if buying secondhand off the Hub, the Spaz Enduro has fnckall value now, so that's a good go-to.   I was nervous selling mine as it was the closest to a DH bike and also the benchmark... but the 279 is way nicer (except in baby head high speed rocks, but niche problem) everywhere.  It pedals miles better uphill (even with DHX2) and going down is miles more fun and first ride out without even suspension set up, faster everywhere.  Confidence wise on the steep stuff it was just so much better.

I've done Morzine with DH Bike (Intense M16C), Enduro and Tracer.   I would have loved a DH bike again, but didn't really feel like I was missing out.    Tracer will be expensive, so suggest an Enduro and whilst it's a dog uphills, you do get used to it quickly.

Stumpy Evo seems the "cool kid" recommendation at the moment, and it's excellent, but for your riding in that area, just get the Enduro, up the fitness and you'll love it way more.

I have a pair of AMP HD alloy wheels that I have been riding for little over a year now, really solid wheels in my opinion.

Thanks, I already got a pyga skalckline though. I seriously considered an enduro and i absolutely love how they look however I was approached with a deal that worked well for me for the slackline. Maybe next year I’ll upgrade to something new and fancy, hopefully there’s a new enduro by then

Slackline is fncking sweet though!   And built properly will be fun and a beast on those trails.

EDIT TO ADD:   You're in Europe then.... dont just focus on a new Enduro, you have the world of choice, so need need for that Saffa Spaz mentality.  haha..

I currently own a Specialized Enduro (it's great but outdated now, like doesn't have UDH). If were to replace it I'd look at the new Trek Slash, or the new Marin Alpine Trail XR (great value, speak to Jaco at Black Sheep Bikes). 170mm travel is what you're looking for in my view. But the Stumpy Evo's are great too at 160/150mm (I wouldn't go less travel than that). The more travel is so much more forgiving, particularly if you new to big road gaps, etc. Basically look for something with around 63deg head angle. Good suspension (new Zeb is amazing and easy to set up). And adjustable geometry. I quite like the adjustability of the Marin (can run it mullet, which is playful and turns well).

Thanks ,I’m going to change out the fork for a new zeb ultimate and planing on an xo transmission when the winter season is over next year. (UDH being a big reason I went for the pyga)
