Since the Amflow DJI appears LITERALLY to be a game-changer eBike, and that I plan to test-ride here in Sydney, does ANYONE know any rumours who may bring them in to SA? And when, more importantly….

It will not be DJI, but rather a bicycle distributor, and poor-old S.A. does not even APPEAR on the global Amflow/DJI webpage. 1st 2 shipments (both November 2024), sold out, but they have a demo bike for test riding…

It has REALLY piqued my interest, ticks a lot of boxes, up to 120nm (105nM regular), lightweight at 19.2kg (the 600W battery -  the 800W battery bike comes in at just over 20kg….

thanks

Chris

Did you have a chance to test the Amflow, Chris?

No, got busy with family in Sydney, then time ran out…sad to say.

Watched over 20+ videos; most all (paid AND unpaid) reviewers raved about the motor, and said the bike (frame/componets OTHER than the motor) were good, not great, but good.

Since then 3 OTHER companies have launched bikes using DJI motor, but these 3 companies not represented in S.A.

Brother in Law visited Cape Town 2 weeks back, from Sydney, but could not FLY with the battery, so bike could fly WITHOUT battery, then battery by ship OR specialist hazardous materials carrier = prohibitively expensive :( So, i passed, fornow.

So, am watching and waiting, but when ‘Outer Mongolia’ and South Isalnd New Zealand have the bike, am sad that it is not available locally = OPPORTUNITY for someone!

many, many reviewers are amazed that a drone-building company could get SO MUCH right in their FIRST ATTEMPT!
Cheers

Chris

There is one at Trailwolf Cycles that they are looking after whilst the owner waits for their battery to arrive. Very sleek for sure.

There is a local Forbidden agent who might be able to get hold of one of their Druid e-bikes. AP Cyclery in KZN.

Thanks guys.
Asked Amflow yesterday where they were on SA sales.
"As for local suppliers lined up to be available, we do not have confirmed sales plans for South Africa in the short term."

Just give it another year and everyone else will have caught up with DJI, they can't afford not to.

It would be crazy to drop that amount of cash and import a bike that has no support network in the country. Just one small glitch and you're pretty much screwed.

Fair comment. In Aussie Dollars, it was actually rather affordable (the base, 800W model). And i felt that by the time i had some miles on it, it would then be on sale in SA; but i think it makes sense to wait; thanks, Buff.
