Breedt's Nek Ride - BEST PARKING SPOT???

Does anyone know the best spot to park at, to do the Breedt's Nek ride? 

As anyone done this lately? How's the route looking?

Call Grotto to Gravel and see if theyre ok with it? Its an adventure bike/mx bike friendly place so cant hurt to ask them. Ive done Breedts Nek on the GS from here, nice friendly place and great restaurant and museum.

With all the rain recently, I would hazard that the north direction entry will be a tad more rocky than usual leading up to the concrete wall. Once you're past the concrete wall it'll be a normal technical route for you

If you're up for a longer ride, you can park at Van Gaalen

We park at Hekpoort Total Oostermoed garage. 

The route on the pass is not in good condition. Definitely sections that a weekend specialist like myself has to walk. The district road there is in good nick.

How far is the ride from here, if i ride all the way up to the top, then down to the Shabeen (if it still exists) then back up and back to Grotto and Gravel?
