  1. Just go to Cradle Moon on Strava heatmaps and you will get a pretty good impression. It will probably be something lie yellow and red for the full marathon
  2. Agreed but knowledgeable commentary adds quite a bit of joy when watching ... at least to me
  3. I completely disagree. In my opinion Jose Been runs circles around Hannah Walker in terms of cycling knowledge
  4. I'm torn on this one; On the one hand I love the way these youngsters (Pogi / MVDP /R.EV) throw all caution to the wind and just go balls to the wall. We are definitely in an exceptional However, one of the things I have always loved about road cycling is that it is not always the strongest rider who wins but sometimes the one who play the game the best ... and yes just sitting on someone's wheel can be part of that. With these aliens there is just no room for that anymore as their strength trumps any tactic

    Cape Epic 2026

As I have it it was sold out in 10 minutes. As per previous years, they then still have a link for people to complete who had payment problems. That is usually valid for 3 days (and I think a loop hole to still get in in overtime if you have the link)
  6. And nice and quiet after Epic mayhem over the weekend I am sure

    Cape Epic 2026

Distance and ascent numbers per year seem to be copied from website as opposed being based o actuals. Some are materially out

The Paarl heat was the biatch in 2025. Even though the stage was cancelled it killed a lot of teams with insufficient steam for the remaining stages
  10. Can't find Strada on Supersport schedule. Anyone in the know whether they broadcast the race?
  11. Most Specialized dealers keep a few spare boas. In the past the boa warranty process was flawless but heard rumours this is not the case anymore. Let us know what your experience is

    Munga 2025

As far as I know, no riders are still out on course

    Munga 2025

All hail Boetie.... he's on track to make cut off

    Munga 2025

Eish 50km in 3h is pushing it at this stage. They really need to leave Ceres asap
  15. Aaah good catch
  16. Most wheels will hold for 10km 🤣
  17. I had a look at this a while ago: SRAM vs Shimano; this is the old BMW - Merc debate both are good but you have to get used to how things work if you switch, i.e. the tapping both levers to switch the chain ring for SRAM Force/ Rival or Ultegra/ 105: in my experience both sets of both manufacturers are good, The main difference is a minimal weight differential
  18. This ^^^^. Find a shop where you can talk to the oke doing the actual wrenching, make sure he is more anal than you are and build a relationship. Over time, that person knows what is important to you and which part of the bike you tend to destroy (yes that is different per bike / model . riding conditions and rider). AND .... don't change shops after the first couple of sub par performance but rather give feedback so as to allow them to improve. I acknowledge there is a limit on this tolerance. Disclaimer: the above typically only works for smaller shops. Not the bigger cash and carry outfits where you'll get a great price on parts but that is where it stops
  19. Back up
  20. Anyone getting this when trying to log into Zwift?
  21. I have developed a lump directly over my left sit bone which is uncomfortable during riding. Still have to consult GP but most likely seems to be a case of ischial bursitis. Has anyone from this community dealt with this and if so what was the best treatment and how long were you off the bike?
  22. Interesting.... that is about the same drop out rate as Epic
  23. Share that hope but would have thought they would have made more noise about that channel in all their socials ... especially with an Epic media savvy team Ons sal maar sien
  24. Heard in a podcast with Matt Beers that there is a livestream planned for the event. Has anyone figured out where or what that would be?

    Cape Epic 2026

"The ladies race should 100% be shorter because they are not strong or as fast as the men. Those are pure facts. A shorter race for the ladies will 100% make it more entertaining. Shorter races are more entertaining. Those are just facts" Most of the above is gender neutral. TdF and other grand tours have experimented with shorter stages for both men and women to make the racing more exciting. I am of the view that women's races are too short.... on dirt they are typically equal and I do really not see an issue with that. Overall my feeling is that we would see different riders floating to the top if women races would be longer. As far as road is concerned, As I understand it the main driver for Epic is to get the women to finish at roughly the same time as the men which has got commercial benefits Interestingly women are overall competitive in ultra distance events like Munga, SRMR etc
