Selling a mountain bike, wish I didn't have to but I need the money. I can get another one if I save up for three months. It's an Apex A900, is 2.5 years old, would take it in for a service and replace the pedals (one is cracked) before selling; accessories are a rubber phone strap, two basic lights (back and front), and a saddle bag of which the velcro doesn't work that well, bottle cage, Giro helmet, handpump and a basic combination lock. Hoping I can get R5k. Is that reasonable? I bought it for R6500 without the accessories. It's for getting money for dental procedures.

Bicycles are rarely worth anything close to what we think they are worth, sadly. I reckon you will be fortunate to get 2500.

I would just hold onto it and make a plan for the dental work, cheaper to get a loan than take a bath on a bike and buy another.

good luck.
