Hello Hubbies,

I'm new to Cape Town and keen to get to know new communities.
Where are the best or most consistent group rides to join in the city bowl and the southern suburbs?

Appreciate all input. Thank you!

southern suburbs is cliquey AF and the groups on the atlantic seaboard have secret handshakes and so pastelly you can't tell the gals from the guys....

Try citycyclingclub.co.za

we operate out of Edgemead but there are regular rides through city bowl and through southern suburbs

@Ash_ there is a new(ish) group riding out of The Active Hobo in Westlake called South Side Cycles.

I'm a relative beginner and have joined for a few rides in the past couple weeks. They're all really welcoming and lovely!

Most of their rides head out to the peninsula so if you can't drive/ride to the start, they'll probably be very happy pick you up along the route if you give them a heads up beforehand.

Seconding the PPA group rides, nice people, and a good way to meet some people. They've got some strong riders as well, and it's not cliquey.

If you're also a MTBer, let me know, I'll let you know about our open for all group rides

Hi, is the mtb beginner group still active?

Are there any other mtb group rides particularly in the southern suburbs (Newlands, Tokai, Constantia)? Planning to eventually join the Tygerberg MTB club but first looking for some “local” rides.

Thanks.
