Event Name: King Price Race to the Sea
When: 06/09/2025
Where: Huguenot Memorial Monument, Franschhoek, Western Cape

This 100-mile gravel journey begins in the scenic town of Franschhoek. It leads you through the rolling landscapes of the Cape, finishing at the stunning Benguela Cove near Hermanus. Along the route, you'll pass fields of vibrant canola, glide by towering wind turbines, and marvel at the dramatic mountain ranges. From rugged mountain passes to sweeping coastal vistas, this race delivers an unforgettable ride through some of the most beautiful terrain in South Africa.


The 50-miler is perfect for riders 15 years and older looking for a new challenge or those not quite up to riding 100 miles. 50-miler riders will start at the halfway point, Wolwekraal and ride the picturesque second half of the journey to Hermanus.

Absolutely, some of the best scenery to ride through! I'll have to get back in the saddle and start training for that Sub 6 medal!Ā

Have you guys ever considered changing the route to actually finish at the sea, or the name of the race to reflect something a bit more accurate?
