2016 Specialized stumpjumper.

I recently bought a specialized which is in good condition but has been changed slightly. Instead of the 2x10 which they came out with ,it has been modified to a 1x12 which i am not able to get used to. My Silverback is a 3x10 and the same with my Giant hardtail. I am wanting to revert back to a 2x10 and need advice as to where to find the components. It originally had SRAM components which seem to be difficult to find on the second hand market and i have been quoted R10k from my local bike shop to use Shimano. Any advice or guidance would be appreciated. 

Original components were: FD SRAM X7 mid direct mount, w/taco blade

                                            RD SRAM X9 2 Speed mid cage.

                                             Shift levers: SRAM X7 , 10 speed w/matchmaker clamp

                                             Crankset Custom SRAM S-1250, 7050 alloy arms, 10-speed double, PF30, 34/22T, 104/64mm BCD spider

Should not revert to 2x10 as a 1X is much better. Rather sell the bike as is and buy another 2X10.

Each entitled to an own opinion .  Personally I prefer 2 x and am not going to try and defend my preference .

I may have a SRAM 2 x 10 groupset will check in my boxed spares .

Yours is the opposite question to the norm here 😊 

I don’t think too many complete 2nd hand 2x setups exist anymore as a lot of people have changed them to 1x10 or 11 or whatever they were originally. So you might find the whole setup in pieces from different sources. 

There can be a real difference in experience depending on the cassette though. Can you tell us what cassette you have currently on the 12 speed?

I understand where you're coming from Laurence, I have a Dual Sus with 1 x 12 and a Hardtail with 2 x 10 and I prefer the 2 x10 for the type of riding I do.
On the 1 x 12, I often find myself searching for that sweet spot on the flatter faster roads.
