Edge 130+ stopped transferring data via Bluetooth and USB.

My Garmin Edge 130 Plus suddenly stopped transferring ride data with both USB and Bluetooth connection. I did a club ride on Saturday morning and successfully uploaded my ride to Garmin Connect and to Strava. On Sunday morning I went out on a solo ride, but when I got back home, I could not upload the ride by any means. At first, I tried to sync the ride using my iPhone as I usually do after a ride, but after more than 30 minutes I realised the data wasn't uploaded. I then connected it to my laptop, the Edge started charging, but it did not show up as a USB device.

I tried different USB ports as well as a different computer. I tried various other USB cables, all of them that I know that they are working, but still nothing. I again tried to upload the ride via Bluetooth, this time using a spare iPhone that was recently reset to defaults so I know there should not be any clashes with whatever app. I installed the Garmin Connect app on the phone and then added the Garmin Edge. That means there are Bluetooth communication, but the device simply refuses to transfer the ride.

I then reset the Edge, first the option that just clears the settings, but that did not solve the problem. I then gave the Edge a full reset, clearing everything, erases data and settings. After that I started the GPS, walked around the house and stopped it. The device itself seems to be working, it's picking up the HRM, locking onto the satellites and indicating the speed. That newly created data also did not want to upload via Bluetooth, and still the device cannot be seen on my computer, but it is being charged whilst connected to the USB port.

I am at my wits end, maybe someone has some other ideas that I can also try? I really do not have money laying around to get a replacement at this stage since I recently went on early pension and I still am adjusting to the new lifestyle with less income. I therefore would for now not want to spend money unnecessarily if it can be avoided. Very recently I bought an iPad of the Bikehub classifieds for my wife, to replace her very outdated one that could not take the newer iPad OS versions and it's battery was dying, so "spare" funds went towards that.

I think perhaps Garming is having an issue, or maybe the update they sent to the 130's.

After saturdays ride it took around 2hours for my ride to synch to my iphone via bluetooth, fridays ride synched to garmin connect but would not synch to strava for a few hours

I have not had any updates to either my Edge 130 Plus or the Garmin Connect on my phone recently. The software on the Edge was last updated a few years ago and Garmin connect was last updated on my phone on the 13th of August. I have looked at that as a possibility but ruled it out since I could do everything as usual with the Garmin on Saturday, but nothing on the Sunday. Nothing's changed between those two days. And since I cannot access the device connected to the laptop with the USB cable, I cannot even try to somehow reinstall the Edge's *.GCD file.

I will have to go and have a look in my drawers to see if I can find my old trusty Edge 500 which still works, but the protective rubber on the buttons is a bit dodgy and definitely isn't protected from the rain anymore.
