Is the Giant Neostrack GPS junk now?

I recently started cycling again after a good few years, I pulled out my Giant Neostrack GPS. It took a charge and everything, recorded my ride, but I see the Neostrack app is gone? You can download it from 3rd party websites but once opened it says no communication from server. Does anyone know if there are other apps that can still sync with it ? I don't want to use a laptop and cable. Otherwise I guess it's time to get a garmin. Cheers.
