I work in Houghton, just over the highway on 11th ave. Around the corner from Mandela's house and Old Eds VA.

Now for the REAL Deal, if in cape town go to Geco cycles. Good guys, fair pricing, excelent service.

But be warned, they sell up a storm, so even with good pricing you usually walk out paying more than you bargained for.......... But you got the goods to proove it.

They can sort almost anything out.

I have a set of Travative cranks that have had play on them since just after the epic.

I like to go to a bikeshop where they know my name and ask about my wife and kids (also by name!). I think it's known where I go, Anton at Summit cycles Midrand for those who don't. A visit there is more like visiting a friends place to me. We laugh and joke, talk rubbish, exchange ideas about settings, kit and training etc. and now and then I actually buy something. he just offered me a set of Juicy 7's at an excellent price, I probably shouldn't but will take them anyway! He also knows how to press my buttons or is that the credit card machines buttons?

Also is cool when he and his appy mechanic also ride!

I go to another bikeshop where they also know my name, I get good service and pricing. The manager there has never even learnt to ride a bike! Zainab from Cajees Oakdene in this case.

Know I will probably get crucified for this but sometimes its an attitude issue from both sides. Misery begets misery?

In Eweps case I don't understand, you couldn't wish to meet a nicer chap!

BB, i'm glad you made that very last comment cos ewep certainly doesn't have any attitude probs.

ewep, they clearly saw you coming a mile away and realised instatnly they'd manage to take you for a ride :-(

i also have a lbs with a special place in my heart - linden cycles. it's virtually a home away from home for me when it comes to cycling related matters... no wait, it IS home when it comes to cycling related matters!
