That surprises me. I also ride a 58cm (XL), mine is the heavier S4 frame, but with D/A group incl 'heavy' 32 spoke training wheels comes in at 9kg. Scott even publish a weight of 8.9kg for the current S20 which can't be a whole heap different to yours now (granted an XL bike will be a bit heavier that the published weight)

What bars, stem, seat post etc are you using? often a good place to but a bike on diet at relatively low cost. eg I have the seatpost off an S1 which is a whole pile lighter than the original S4 post (100g at least)

BTW, the bling bits on the cranks look cool - I had a set speedmetal bolts like that a few years back, looked really cool until one fell out beacuse I forgot to tighten properly one day and had put the original bolt back in - remember always make sure your nuts are tight Embarrassed

I can't say that the scale I used was very accurate....It had seen better days.  The seatpost is standard issue Scott and the handlebars are standard.  I might be able to shave off a lot of weight there...the 10kg's on the scale included my saddle bag which consists of tool, spare tube and two bombs.  I think the naked bike would come in well under 10kg's. will be looking at the seatpost later on..maybe christmasWink. The stem is also standard scott.  I guess if I had to replace all those goodies I should be able to shave off another 300grams.
