Is there seriously a hatchback that you can fit a MTB in the back (seats folded) without removing the wheels?Shocked

I have a SWB Prado and can fit on MTB with no wheels removed. But for some reason I can't get 2 in with front wheels removed.

A bakkie is still the best. Transport bikes standing up. Dogs can sprawl out in the back without worrying about hair everywhere. I can also get a nice 4 hour sleep in the back while waiting for the mrs to finish the Argus.

We've got a Caddy delivery van here at work and man I want that thing. It is so perfect for bike mobile.

Do you want a Caddy??? Have been looking at cars - found a private sale Caddy (2006 wht 1.6 46 000km ) They want to sell it quick and are going to a dealer(s) today - i know they (sadly) will only get a low low low offer from the dealer. They are going to the land of oz. She is a v well known cyclist.

I am with Tjokkits and the rest that like the Caddy. Plenty space and accessibility, which is important as well. The question is price and what you need. The Caddy costs more than most of the cars mentioned, but you get more space and sliding doors. A sliding door gives much more "open area" to load than doors. I am thinking of selling the Vito and looked at the Caddy and Touran.

Your other decision is petrol or diesel. If you buy new, you would have to travel many km's to cover the extra cost of purchasing a diesel. If you buy second hand and can get a diesel at a good price, then you will save on the fuel. I personally prefer diesel because of it's driving characteristics.

Bakkies are best.

My bakkie with one of my mates in Moz, loaded up with 2 road bikes and one MTB. Would carry 5 bikes easily with room for luggage and 5 people in the cab. Then below shows how I clamped the road bikes by the handlebars, using holdfast clamps. Ignore the curious cat. Just note that some bins are shorter than others. Like Toyota double cab is shorter that Mazda or Mitsubishi Colt.
