WPCA appointed Gavin Smith as PRO to help with:

(i)         Foster and promote the sport of competitive cycling within the Province.

(ii)               To obtain and maintain sponsorships for the promotion of competitive cycling in the Province.

(iii)             All such other general duties as usually devolved upon a PRO.

Congrats and good luck with your duties.

Well done Short Legs!!! Good luck with the PRO position and I know that you will be able to share your passion for cycling to a much wider audience......

So does that mean you wont have time to design new kit? LOL

Well congratulations and good luck, you have a big job ahead of you, but a fun one!

Track, road, mtb and bmx in the mix or is it more focussed?  The scope above is quite wide and open.  Let us know what your plans are.

May you only get support from cyclists and Hubbers in WP!

Thanks all, hopefully a little of my infectious love for cycling will rub off and we all can help lift the profile of cycling.

My son is 4, so that gives us about 5 years before he's the right age to ease into cycling in one form or another, and by helping me to help you to help our sport we'll be helping my son and lots of kids like him that should be given the best opportunities to try excel.

So we can expect a lot of PR on BMX thenWink

I have to agree with colonel on the tennis thing.  You don't know what the kids will be into!  My son loves his bike, but only fools around on it.  Cricket, golf and hockey, that's his thing.  Just let him play what he wants to and enjoy it first.
