You get these really cool new tubby Mtb tyres, glue a set of those onto a 650c Zipp rim built onto a Hugi disc hub, anybody want to sponsor this experiment?

Yeah, but the young man wanted to build them with Zipps, you know how these roadies are. Chatted to Nino (Schuerter) about it and he reckons it's a *** idea, have to say I kinda agree.

Zipps built up as MTB wheels?? Yah that is a pooh idea. They're not strong enough to cope with the abuse.

 

Wilie has a set of MTB tubbies dangling from the ceiling. Pretty nice wheels but they'renot cheap.

Zipp makes Cyclocross rims? Same thing really, and most of those cyclocross boys abus the ever living hell out of their equipment!

but cyclocorss wheels are 700C.

 

I believe that a certain SA based composites compnay is making aero tubby rims for the MTB fraternity... under the Zipp and Reynolds brand names
