last of my input.there was 2888 for the 116km race for Ride 4 sight

The Ofm Classic had almost 6000 last year

Ride 4 sight had just over that... this year.

 

Point being ?   Apart from 2400 entries is not a record ..

D2D is not a big event yet as everyone has pointed out.

Also we're probably comparing entrants in D2D with timed finishers in other events and the drop off between the 2 is 25%-30%.

D2D was a UCI event last yr for men as well - they put on a longer distance for this  [my bad] the longer distance was 2006.  It's a UCI event because the organisers made it a priority and got the thing through whatever admin. was necessary to achieve it.
