I have a mate in the UK who's mates are looking to come to SA for an MTBing holiday.  When I asked what they were looking for (longuphills followed by long downhills or easy to ride stuff in terms of effort, but high in terms of being able to damage yourself?), I got this as a reply:

There has to be some trickery involved else not much point. Gavin is extremely fit and long uphills suit him. Obviously when travelling one doesn?t ride over metre sized boulders at huge speed but technical as in technical with tight switchbacks, lines through rocky sections etc where skill is required, singletrack etc. In <?: prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Spainon> we rode about 5 -7 hours a day so I guess a mix is the answer.

Anybody got any suggestions?
