markStockton Posted October 1, 2008 Share BrokeSpoke, have you watched Alex go through that bottom corner. For me it was easy as he laps me about 20 times. But what he does is turn in at full tilt, straighten up over the grate, shoot in to the next lane between the curb and the tree, and finish the turn there. I'm still chicken and dab the brakes before turning in, but I am going through there just shy of 50km/h using Alex's line. This really helps carry momentum into the first section of the climb. GIRR Posted October 1, 2008 Share Hmm, I noticed he did that the one time I was behind him but thought he had just overshot.

The only thing is you need to duck if you go under the tree as the branches are very, very low.
Thug Posted October 2, 2008 Share I averaged just shy of 32 kph including the 2 warm-up laps and managed a top speed of slightly over 47 kph going into that bottom turn with the grate. I generally brake before I lean over into that turn but on one of my laps I got a fright when my back tyre jumped slightly and I thought to myself "HKGK" but managed to hold my line. I've tried going over to the next lane but find that there is far too much loose gravel on the tarmac, so prefer taking a more narrow line through the corner. Thug I had my back wheel jump out three times from under me on that corner, I found this happened if I tried to pedal just as you are halfway in the corner and when I looked at my speedo once out the corner I was doing43km/h (not sure what speed I go into the corner). scotty Posted October 2, 2008 Share All the tyre slipping could be because your tyre direction arrow is wrong, hence less grip.

markStockton Posted October 2, 2008 Share Don't worry Scotty' date=' you can join me at the back of the pack.[/quote'] Has everyone forgotten, I'm the one at the back. No stealing my spot. I think my average from last week +- 28km/h proves that.
