kori Posted September 23, 2008 Share supercycling is so yesterday, porno music on the inserts (u expect to see paris riding naked), arnie the hypnotist(he puts anyone to sleep, even with your helmet on) andrew is so boring taking cheap shots at csa any chance he gets,owen just agrees with whatever,where the new bike launches, new products, theres so much to be excited about in cycling but not in that program. porky Posted September 23, 2008 Share Really pathetic, now you cant even state your opinion without someone telling you to change channels or "its the only one we got" - well so what?? We only have one surfing show too, its also pathetic, oh and we only have one fishing show, but I quite like that one.! As for switching channels, very old school, maybe we just want to see if it gets better, maybe its so pathetic we are glued there just to see if its really believable, whatever, why dos there always have to have a reason, maybe we just felt like it - how about that.!! As for me, I dont scare easily,............... so heres my opinion, tonight I sort of watched wondering if any mention would be made on the "tremendous future and great health of cycling in SA", - how naive of me, but I continued in hope because its probably the first the first time in maybe 6 months - the show hasnt changed, its still pathetic, if you are older than 16, the music played over the clips is just irritating, has Owen EVER had an opinion of his own, or maybe one slightly differant to Andrews, and who is really interested in a track been built somewhere, maybe they can include the one down the road from me next, its been knocked up by a few intrepid folk who sleep there over night and use the stream for their daily clothes washing, theres piles of garbage you can jump over and if you are lucky you will have a few non paying spectators. .............and really, get rid of that ageing logo and even worse voice over, its gets tiresome hearing Phil mumble on about "the back wheel of Zabel" 200 times a year. I couldnt take it after the Bluff race and switched off so I didnt see the Owen episode, but I am sure it was "riviting" viewing.!! Unlikely I will be watching it again!! When Mnet reviewed the Argus they always had a very unfunny clown interviewing riders/spectators (Darren Scott comes to mind) and the 94.7 they had some other joker (cant remember the name) and now for the last few years we've had Arnie and his bizarre humour. I am now too late They have tried to do bike tests, but believe it or not, suppliers don't want to do it. I think, brands are scared of getting bad publicity. They have also tried the phone in, but the "module" that does this is quite technical and full ****. It works during testing, and then they tried to use it for an interview and ... This guy is serious about giving the viewers what they want (and if he can), so lets change things from b1tching, and post here, what you would like to see, and how you would like the show structured. One of the ideas was to structure the show eg: first 10 mins is local, next 10 mins is International, next 10 mins is technical. This way, if you don't like technical, you can flip channels after 20 mins, or if you don't like international, have a 10 min coffe break in between. You would not be glued to the tv waiting to see if there's something you like, only to find out there wasn't. I have met Arnie, Andrew and Owen. They have a great sense of humour and are great people to talk to. It's unfair to judge their character from a show. Due to being a little leader in my sector, I have been on TV a few times, and I can tell you (after watching myself) that that is not who I am. It is hard being yourself, when you get told (through your earpiece) your shirt is not strait, don't look at the lights, stop fidgeting with your hands etc, all this while concentrating on what you have to say, whithout the ums and buts and using the correct language as the shows are live. I agree that a lot of people aren't happy with the content etc, but with your help, you guys could get a lot more. Post away... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
