You should post the ride on weightweenies with all that effort in weighing each seperate part. That's how they do it

Great to see you going into so much detail

Thanks man. Thats actually where I got the idea from.

Plus lots of people are always asking the weight of stuff, so I thought I'd do it this way, considering I was stripping and putting it together all the time...

I reluctantly decided to change the ITM K-Sword Bars and Stem.

I updated my bike with the ZIPP SL bar (42cm - Ergobend)

and a matching ZIPP 145 Stem (100mm)

The bar is a feather-light 170g

and the stem was 152g

Aaah the pics as promised - NICE!!!

Carlo I agree with waynedude. If you are able to ride lower in front, then remove all the spacers and cut that steerer. will also save some weight

Obviously first ride with the spacers above the stem for some time to make sure you're comfy before cutting

Your not practicing with those eastons are you? Tubbies are way to expensive to puncture during weekday rides.

Whats your training wheels?

THIS BIKE IS ILLEGAL!!!!!...I think I will have to speak to a few race officialsWink

Well done Carlo. I hope you have plenty of happy km's on herClapClapClapClap

LOL Thanks everyone!

Waynedude, Slowtwitch:

The Felt frame geometry is very aggressive, see the 'side-on' pics previously posted. Therefore the steerer tube is already cut to under 200mm and it still sticks out the top of the stem. If I cut it more I'll save about 5-10g, and the fork will only be able to be used with this bike (it'll be too short to use elsewhere...)

Astana:

No, I dont play games with my tubulars - races only!

I train on Easton EA50's with Continental GP4000's - these wheels are one of my best purchases.

Where else would you want to use it then?Embarrassed

I might have other fork options in mind, and if I were this one cut it more, I wouldn't be able to sell it...Wink

Hey Carlo stack hight and saddle to handlebar drop to suit your setup is much more important than a couple of grams saving. No use having a bling bike but you're so uncomfortable you don't wanna ride it!!!

But you must luv the weightweenies who will cut steerers to the max and remove chain links to the max in order to save those extra 5g's

I was just piulling your leg dude

LOL ja I know' date='

Sitting at 6730g, and wanna be in the 6.6's, and 5grammes is 5grammes hey...

I prefer a more agressive drop so all good. I'm not that much of a weightweenie though LOL, I mean there are much lighter options that I didnt go for.

My dream bike was a good combination of performance, quality, style & relatively lightweight, and after having ridden this baby, and comments from other people that have ridden it - I like to think I have achived that. Smile

Thanks to everyone for the comments, I really appreciate it.

get the crinkle cut headset spacers from Kiwi. The 35mm you need will weigh in at about 10-12gr compared to the 18gr you have now. And it will only cost you about R30. Beware, they are not carbon.

Mampara now that advise sounds like a real weightweenie talking!!!

I'm a bit of an undercover weenie myself hehehe

Carlo at 6.7k's I underatand you're not at real weenie weights, but as I state before, the amount of trouble you went through to weigh each component puts you nicely in that class.

The one thing you forgot to weigh is the grease and lube you used :)
