  1. R27 from Melkbos (Blouberg) out west coast way has a shoulder mostly. Would still ride with bright lights/Radar and keep an ear open. Long road no madatory stops.
  2. I started using an oval by accident and wont go back to round. It’s marginal though, not alles. If you’re dik fris, go 36. If you’re a normal oke like me who is maybe dik fris bit still working on it, go smaller! I use 32 equivalent.
  3. FWIW, trans Augrabies is worth it if you like a fresh technical and well hosted race. Great leaving the family in the park. Worth the drive at least once.
  4. This forum is good for awareness, but judging by the perps mentality he is going to lay very low after reading this, for better or worse.
  5. Chances are the same group will ride again coming weekend, if one knows how to identify them.
  6. Those vent thingys are just going to be a beach to clean.
  7. So about 60kms in Trans Baviaans last weekend, my pulley stops pulling... The jockey return spring snapped (not the visible spring that sends the parallelogram up and down the cassette, the one inside the clutch cover). Wondering if anyone has an old buggered 10 spd rear derailleur that I could harvest the spring of? Would like to see if I can keep this groupset together for a bit longer before big spending on 12spd. I'm in JHB and happy to pay in beer or a nominal cash donation. My floppy chain and I finished Trans after a lot of swearing and the help of some rubber bands.
  8. Great job man, inspiring me to relook things too.
  9. Couple nice ones around that have stood the test of time. Linden Cycles all round champion. Dunkeld Cycles come with a premium and free coffee. Northcliff great too. Unsure of Germiston sorry.
  10. Good luck with recovery, good to hear community is looking out for each other.
  11. I shat on my top tube onesh. Sheemsh to be fine shtill. 'Shept the colour.
  12. Sure, but fairly speaking you don't take potholes full force through the frame to the butthole either. One generally avoids pothole or unweights said butthole for impact. Well... Sure, but only if you're fit enough to hold on. Tuck position is a legitimate part of riding, has been for ages. Try pull another one.
  13. Let it then be known that this frame is not intended for mass market use. During the life of a bike it will CERTAINLY see various forces applied to its top tube. Either from bike racks, handling, riding/waiting at the robot, road shudder over thousands of kms. This is an obvious weakspot in a frame that was either not designed or tested adequately. If one or two top tube sits crack it, it's not strong enough in the first place. Principles of functional product design dictate that testing be done for both INTENDED and EXPECTED(yet unintended) usage/forces exerted on a product. The first test of the top tube would have shown that this frame will crack if a roadie sits on it. Is this fine? I don't know; I do however know most dependable manufacturers don't seem to have this issue, and that it is a sure thing that a top tube will get sat on. I'd love to discuss how this is due to cost effective manufacturing and their business model but perhaps in a different fred. Your fault cause you sat on the top tube? Kakstorie.
  14. I personally am not ecstatic about this. Wonder what CWC sold for.
  15. Eish. I generally try to stay positive in life and country, but between cyclists being shot at the "safe place to ride" and farms being taken I'm getting ever so slightly less patriotic.
  16. Is stage info/partial stage info going to be released/when? AMPED
