Can't see why RK will go back to sponsoring the SV's. That's where he started with Bertie, Mark etc. then he moved over to Elite's (to get more coverage?). Why then a step back to SV's? Just wondering....

Just a reminder' date=' over the last three leaque races, if it wasn't for the break away's in the elites the S/V would have won those races on time.Shocked

I remember sitting with Fatty last year in the Tour D'Winelands after we got dropped up Helshoogte, and caught by the SVs, and chatting about the lack of "raciness" in the SVs. We almost got the impression that they would sit together and wait for the sprint finish.

You can't even compare this year's racing with last year's - the top SVs would be able to ride Elite with no hassles. Well done to them. (I rode three league rides, and got caught by the SVs three times, and had to work to hang on to the bunch each time).

It's sad that most of the money for sponsorships goes to the Vet's league, guys that can afford to buy the best bikes already, 12 teams? Are you kidding, what exposure is this generating? The guys in the Elite leagues are the ones that need the sponsorships and dare I say it have earned the sponsorship, the day has come when there is more money in sponsorship for has been riders than there is for up and coming riders. I don't care if the Vets think they're good enough to race Elites, they're not or they would be racing Elites with their big budgets, would that then not strengthen the racing in the Cape? Maybe, but probably not.

TitusTi: target market....Wink

I understand the marketing, but the marketing is very small without a broader perspective! In fact the marketing is aimed at the guys racing in the leagues and the very few people around it as they (and by this I include the Elites) don't get any real tangible exposure.

Well i think we need some longer races' date=' some circuit races (3 to 8km laps), and we need to race more often. [/quote']

First we need a reason for these races to exist, exposure. Then we need a league that is worth exposing, with more than just 3 or 4 teams.
