The sealant you are using is probably useless now and you need to refill with sealant, and reinflate the tyre. Usually it needs a blast of compressed air to reinflate. You should also check the rim for damage. The valve leaking could be anything. It could be the valve itself or the seal where the valve is inserted into the rim. If it is the valve (presta) in my experience it can't be fixed and you need to buy a new one. calabash Posted October 2, 2008 Share Thanks for the feedback guys. It is a presta valve. I have filled the tyre up with new sealant and tried to re-inflate it with a foot pump. It still leaks all over the place. I have stopped pumping when everything starts leaking out. Should I just keep pumping till the leakage stops? I shall try the silicone sealant around the valve tomorrow. And yes, it is a rim strip with a valve. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
