I decided to ride with my clubs "A" bunch on sunday.

At first the pace was ok and eventually started to pick up.

Eventually I got P***ED off with the guys because they started to go through RED robots , but they seemed to accelerate through the robot

which as we all know is dangerous and gives us responsible cyclists a bad name.Myself and a few others then had to chase these people down to catch up.

At one time we caught our "D" bunch which had done a shorter route and the "A" guys went through another red robot only to be repremanded by the "D" bunch who where quite right in doing so.

I was not the only rider who got fed up withthis poor behavior.

Shurly cyclist of "A" bunch calibure should know and respect the rules of the road and not endanger fellow club cyclists.

And these would be the good folk who cry Blue Murder when one of them is knocked down.Wacko

Pity when guys like shaunh do such a lot of hard work for cycling safety and it is undone by the very people he and others like him are trying to help.

It is unfortunately not them that get knocked, but rather the straglers and commuters who are alone on the road......

Another great reason for why I train alone....safer, don't have to worry about idiots getting creamed. (I'll probably get mugged though, that'll take the smugness straight out of my tone).

I have always known what the "A" stands for. haha

They also have BIG egos and heaven forbid the newbie

or youngster who sets a faster pace , all the toppies bitch and moan,

but they are "A "group riders

I guess you know what the "A" stands for now.

Classic! Ah the egos of road cyclists. One top MTB guy in the vets category who shows up once in a while to win the race, reckons he hardly races road anymore cause there are 'too many prima donnas'.

Coming back from Hekpoort on Sunday morning, I had the exact same sense of dispear with some of those fools on thier motor bikes, what ass holes, over take on the wrong side of the road up and down the hill, the behaviour on HP thats something ubelievable.

Made me feel like everybodies attempt at making our roads a better place seem worthless. Shaunh works is butt off, the THINK BIKE guys try so hard.

Then you get a bunch of twits that just f%^K it up for all of us.AngryAngryAngryAngryAngry

Gobbo, why not take it up with you club management. I think you are 100% right though to voice your concern. What policy do other clubs out there have when it comes to 'skieting' red robots and stop streets???

I was also in the group.  The same guys swearing at us for going through red lights (which we did slow down for, and obviously stopped if there was any traffic even remotely close by) had no problem riding 4 or 5 abreast, sometimes on the wrong side of the road with oncoming traffic, and blocking cars from behind.  If you're gonna stick to the road rules, you have to stick to them 100%.  The people in the bunch that hadn't been riding in winter or complained because they were tired from their Durban ride should have just dropped back to a slower group.  No-one forces them to ride in A-group.  And yes, it isn't only in CAPRI A-group.

Maybe its time to start an A1 and A2 group Shocked

Just my 2cents on the matter... sure I'll get some flack for it.
