If your budget is R1500 for both stick to Alu,  it is cheaper and even lighter.

 

If you have R1500 for each then go for carbon.  your bars are going to be more expensive than the stem,  but be prepared to pay

Some might sneer at my comment here.

I agree with Samma.

On the bars the BBB alloy bars are great and then you even have a bit of spare cash to get a Ritchey WCS alloy stem.

 

Great value for money and the weight is a 115 grams for a 100mm length, is the Rav X stem.

ok thanks, im trying to stay as low as posible ...budget for the whole bike is 20k , ah cant wait to get the parts, its gona be great fun putting it all together

ja sure, gonna do the paint myself...getting the frame , wheels seat and seatpost from token freak ...oh which bike shops stock these parts in pretoria?

So true, got the missus a BBB wing bar and RavX stem.  great value for money
