I read two Kark comments on Chainreaction?s website that the Candy?s are really crap, bend after two rides etc etc. So now I?m thinking Smarty or Eggbeater. I?m a bit of a novice and dont do crazy stuff, but I am looking for really good pedals.

Definitely the Egg-beater. I know of a few riders who have had the Candy's, and they hated them, the platform just gets in the way and it is difficult to clip in and out, especially when you are on technical sections. The Egg-beater is also more durable I believe.

Thanx guys... I love the look of the Eggbeater! But like DirtBreath said, Eggbeaters are better for XC

What about the Smarty pedals?

Mmmmm bending the candy's !! yet to do that after 4 years although I did manage to loose the nut on one once leaving me with a loose pedal . After the 4th set of bearing they are going to the dust bin as the shafts are getting a bit worn . But the eggbeaters are also great , i just like the platform more .

You should have stopped before santa cruz !

Jy's vol strond vanaand, ne !!

Anyway, a downhill bike like a Morewood needs a bigger platform pedal than the SL's Wink
