20 inch tubes for Ghetto Tubeless

Recommended Posts

Did 2 conversions last night on a Kenda Karma (used, folding) and Tioga Yellow Kirin Magnum 66 (also used and wire bead).

This morning the Kenda had lost some air(might be due to the tyres prior use), Tioga still hard.

I used (as a test) Raleigh ProSeal as a sealant. at R24 for 500ml at PNP you can't go wrong.

Nice find! let us know how the sealant does during a race with a few thorns! Might be worth switching.

The wheels are not mine, but will ask the guy to give some feedback. I have used the green slim but find it too thick. The Proseal seems to work just as good as Joe's.

We will see after 94.7,C2C and Babbas.

I did a conversion this weekend with 20 inch tubes and sealent. Worked like a charm (easier than I thought) but around the edge of the rims some of the sealent is bubbling out very slowly and I seem to be loosing pressure. Any recommendations? Will it stop?

Did you thrash it round left right up down sideways a few times? It will seal with some time but keep a nice high pressure for now to allow the tyres bead to seat against the new tube liner. Also give the wheel a spin every time you pass.

Brilliant website Henri! That is the exact method I used, just plain water though, not soapy. And my bike is lighter!

For the life of me I can't understand why somebode will dish out R600 for a conversion kit, that essentially the same thing.
