Conversely, for road, first check if the bike is ok before attending to any bleeding...

definitely... very bad form to not be able to answer the standard question of "how's my bike?"

Another one, but this would apply to road as well:

 

It is absolutely imperative to first survey your surroundings, take note of any riders near you, and position yourself in such a way that you don't hit any of them with projectile snot when launching a snot rocket.

During Gerhards interval session at Killarney yesterday afternoon there were some overzealous riders shouting "hold your line" around the bends, when they were clearly the ones who should hold a line. On the last lap one of them took out another rider in a reckless effort of line intruding ... they totally missed the point of an interval session too.
