FasterThanFast Posted November 3, 2008 Share Like someone further up said.buy for the fit, looks of the frame, then the wheels.that nice groupset means nothing when you bash it against a rock.and last time i checked. all cranks go round and round.and the day you actually enter one of those MTB races, you'll see thatthe LX groupo's outnumber the others 10:1.and when you find you cant actually ride your bike up that rocky hill, you'll ask yourself if it was worth spending all that cash on that expensive Gset.rather put some money into your shock and brakes. Captain Slow Posted November 3, 2008 Share astana, according to reviews, Sram is the way to go. Once it's set, there is little tinkering to be done unlike Shimano. Contact kiwi. He has both X-9 & X-0 at excellent prices.
dirtrider Posted November 3, 2008 Share Despite all , definitly Shimano and then stick with LX ! SRam just to soft for the job .

markStockton Posted November 3, 2008 Share Got X0 on my Scalpel and X9 on my Trek. Wouldn't go back to Shimano if I got it for free. Can't go wrong with SRAM. Don't take cheap shots at manufacuters unless you qualify your statements. What is wrong with the Shimano products you have? I guess you mean apart from the local agents screwing the industry inside out. markStockton2008-11-03 07:00:
dirtrider Posted November 3, 2008 Share A free tool kit or a special tool kit ? my toolkit does not work on Sram stuff !!!

JPW# Posted November 4, 2008 Share I think LX is the best value for money. Some people say Sram is not at smooth operating as shimano. If you buy a hardtail you dont need to spend more than 13 k , it wont make a performance diffrence .
