Anyone know what race the guy's on the unicycles did? 

 

Yip we did the 12km, and it was our first offroad race, MUCH better than riding on tar!!!! We will be doing the 35km on 16Dec though!!!

so, I'm looking to do the one in Dec. What level of skill would this race require??

Mmmmmmm you been wanting to do one for ages now ! No special skills required but apparently you do need to know how to avoid snakes , crocs and cows . There are usually quite a bit of sand but last race not a lot of sand . Even the rocky climb is easy and the downhill also very tame .

i just do not like snakes! and never have been a fan of crocs. hey, what cows are we talking about here??

a few herd roams around and have crossed out paths on previous races . But I have not heard of anybody been trampled by them in the past .

i came close to a few cows at the crater cruise and they were looking fairly harmless. but thank you for the heads-up.

...remember the sunblock!! Make sure you have enough water with you, difficult to spot the waterpoints on the 70km route, I used half a bottle of water just to cool my  body down a bit, that sun is a killer. Make sure you have slime in your tyres and have a spare tube handy, there's lots of thorns on the trail...
