I am struggling to get one of my pedals off. I have now stripped my crappy pedal tool and taken all the skin off my fingers. Any suggestions?

Tried to use a shifting spanner but I am scared of stripping the peddle.

It is a crank bros.

I've had similar problems before. Try heating up the crank (you can just pour boiling water over it a few times) where the pedal is, after a few minutes it should come loose... Worked for me after I'd tried everything else! (and make sure you're turning it the right way..)

Ther is an allen key slot. I tried that to no avail. I am truning in the right direction, checked with another peddle.

Gonna go and try the boiling water option.

The pedal you are checking is the same side I presume. If you need more leverage over the allen key get a ring spanner, normally about a 13 or 14 and loop the ring over the allen key to extend the lever.

YEs, I'm on the end of my seat wondering what you did! Was going to suggest trying a pipe if you have one. It's always worked for me but obviously it doesn't help if your spanner is fooked.

Clearly still furious.

There is no room in mechanics for anger. Patience will always see you through something that seems impossible, counter-intuitive or just plain hard. When in doubt, put it on the back burner and think about it whilst doing something else.

I see too many stripped bolts, buggered spanners, bent allen keys and raped components.

I also had this problem on the weekend. Went and got myself the Pedros pedal wrench and used a bit of force. My problem was crappy spanners that were rounding from the force required.
