CKT Road Bike Neotel's choice 2009

At the 94.7 Cycle Boys displayed some carbon frames, both road (about R12750) and MTB (R7500). I'm inclined to think that there is no such thing as a bad frame nowadays, but does anyone have any experience of the road bike frames, which looked awesome. The groupset "Arsis", aside from the unfortunate name, was a bit suspect. Review and comparisons with other frames would be appreciated.   Yang2008-11-19 02:46:17

Found this link. Would you buy this frame and at what price? I'm still astounded that something that weighs 1000grams costs over R12,000!

they are even cheaper at www.planet-x-bikes.co.za, carbon bikes for 7k, only in pearl white though.

Just spoken to Glen on 084 575 1122, and he tells me that its Neotel's choice of frame for 2009. I've reserved a CKT 258 for myself. But at 7k I don't mind if its pearl white.

Also check with TokenFreak. You can get a top-end full carbon frame with ISP (or not) for around R9k. Great frames and you can have a custom paint job done straight from the factory.

Why is the 2009 Silverbacks then still branded in the team colours?

I think they are in actual fact CKT frames... not 100% sure.

I've been umming about a decision to buy a frame for weeks now, and I have decided. I think if the frame is good enough for Neotel and the pros in France, as per the link, its good enough for me. I have stayed away from pubs for enough time to have accumulated some cash to spoil myself. I called Glen- very helpful, and for anybody else interested, he's getting new stocks in 4 or 5 weeks time. 

 

I need to wait for that stock to get the integrated stem and handlebar, then convert my groupset from my Giant, get some other bling, and I will have a new ride.

 

PS- howzit Crow- managed finally to get a work repair stand- a BBB, not as good as the one you had, but it will do.
