BB' date=' I was under the impression that he might want to "restore an old classic" for his collection.

Otherwise, I might just "maak n plan" to get it fixed so I can use it to train on and save the newgate for races. (Train on a heavy bike and race a lighter one.)

Any wisdom in that one "dad"?

Train heavy and race light is a good strategy son!

Having said that there comes a time when you have to let go and I think it's time ........

She looks so sad and forlorn with all her bits removed and transplanted to the new "gate"

I know I have to get into the 21st century and go all hi-tech, but like just one step at a time. Seems to be I'm flying there with new shoes, new bike after recent conversions to first 8 and now 9 speed. From downshifters to STI's.

All this speed is making me tired.

Peejou and I went many km's together and it's hard to say goodbye to an old faithful friend.

kid, a new pair of legs is probably what I need most. Only way I'll get faster.

Have you entered the fountains race yet. I just did. 96 k's on the 16th June. I need to improve my seeding for the 94.7 and since they cocked up my result for the fast one, it doesn't help me one bit.

Officially, we have a time, but they have the results for Ox. Seems the choppers have the result for him.ignored our sub or lost the paperwork I paid R100 for. Ijits. smiley7.gif

Anyone, how do I find out if I am seeded or not?

Do I have to have a license frst before I get seeded?

What's the deal?

I entered and I have been slotted into men's open. Surely I have to be in the geriatric classification.

Are you opened minded enough to consider robotic legs ?

Nope I haven't entered.

I'm going to be focussing on gym for the next few months (until it gets warmer). So I doubt I'll do any races.

I'll do a Saturday / Sunday ride, besides I'm spending every 2nd weekend running on the side of the soccer field - cross trainning smiley36.gifsmiley36.gifsmiley36.gif

Email Trubie about your seeding question, he explained it all to me and it's a lot more complicated than I thought.

New shoes, new frame, now a licensed rider .... eish Slave smiley32.gifsmiley32.gifsmiley32.gifsmiley32.gif

Just to let you know, the licensed guys meet tomorrow morning at Meyesdal Steers @ 5:10am, be there!!!

Hey Kid, you need to graduate there son. I never mentioned "that I did got a license."

So you going to hide away in the gym where it's warm? Sheeeekin!

Pik, Pik, Pik.

Oh and BTW. I'm too sheekin to meet the licensed chaps at Meyesdal at 05h10 tomorrow AM. There are things like sleep that should not be interrupted before civilised hours.

It's insane to be out on the road in the cold at that time dude. It's wrong.

(I'll just grab my coat, I know where the door is.)

Yip I'm going to stay indoors a bit more.

I'm planning to move the weights around in the gym, then when Spring comes it's going to be time to burn unwanted fat - back on the bike for that.

Pity I missed Saturday's ride, 2 x DD's or is it 4 x DD's on the same ride, how often does that happen ?

What a boring day without some hub activity. Eish, was a looooong day.

Slave, no need for a licence to get a seeding.

Go onto this link, and read all about it.

It'll make more sense than me trying to explain it to you in my broken and limited knowledge of the queens language.

Sorry about the Pjou, but things happen with a reason.

Great work Owl for coming to the man's rescue, cannot allow him to have any excuses to not ride.

Dont want to discourage you Slave, but fountains isnt  - according to my knowledge - used for seeding.........

Somewhere on this post, I listed the races!!

Do some searching bud.

Guys, we have to work with facts here please.smiley7.gif

Its no longer 5:10, but 5:00 - trying to get away before Kid sees us riding without lights. (Shhhhh - you see we have to be as light as possible for the climbs on the am ride!!)

And just when I thought I take the cake for being 'verstrooid' somebody comes along and rain on my parade ...

So now.. is it a seeding race, or is it not? Coz I can remember the last quote below:

https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=37434&PID=762576#762576 on Page 148:

Nish4' date=' Slave, Ox, Kid - I have tried all avenues to

get the list of remaining seeding events for the 94.7. But I havent had

much luck thus far. Best I can do is a list of the races that is timed

by Racetec (Winning time), that will probably be looked at. I am sure

some of the ChampionC results will also be looked at, but they place a

lot of emphasis on the RT races.

So if you wanna try and get a seeding for the race - here goes:

[i']16 June - Fountains CC - 96 km[/i]

16 Aug - Tour de Soweto - 100 km

22 Aug - Lost City CC - 103 km

13 Sept - D2D - 116 km

27 Sept - Campus t C - 100 km

18 Okt - Amashova - 106 km

24 Okt - Telkom Satellite - 107km

I will however deny that I supplied it, or had anything to do with it if confronted with it later.smiley2.gif

Sorry trubes man that post was done in too much haste. I just came back from an 9km LSD run(which is V-E-R-Y far for me), and when I'm tired I get all factual and pedantic (vol dubbel K, middel A in ander woorde)

Maybe I should have rather have counted to a thousand before posting...

Slave

I just checked last years results for the Fountains race and it seems like there were only 80-odd finishers.... which is w-a-a-a-a-y NOT enough according to the seeding ladder rules....

dunno coz I kinda had my hopes on it as the Bela-Bela did not seem to be a  seeding race..

I'm udderly confussed now on what to do about this all...

Bela Bela had almost 900 finishers, at least two pro teams, so no prob there.

I suggest if you wanna improve your seeding, seriously consider doing the Carousel race on 10 Aug.

Lekker fast and relatively flat, so easy race for improving seeding/getting a nice seeding - try it, you will thank me later

Seems like it is my 'off' weekend that, so I'll give it a go! Guess I'll need to do quite a few longer races/rides before the time as well... So I'll do as much as I can fit into my schedule

Long rides, long(er) runs here I come! Need to  do something to get the HR down... down... down...

Cannot continue doing Babbas @ 169 for short of 2 hrs, 5km runs at 160+

Need to get these down to 140s to 150s so more LSD and less SPEED smiley36.gif
