Hehehehe. Your group really sounds like a great bunch of people!

I am definitely not one of Uncle Bob?s henchmen. I come from a bit further north. Old Kim sent me down. ;-) Will get the embassy to arrange my visa application.

<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Bike details are as follows: Trek 1500 currently with Ultegra and Bontrager Select wheels. Hope to soon have Eastons and SRAM Red though.

Well I did the Emperors Palace race in 2:31 and the windy race in the very very very far south in 2:27. Carnival City race was a disappointing 2:48 but that was first time back on bike after a bad crash at Emporers race.

As for vital stats Nance and WW are going to have to do the calf measurements themselves to ensure accurate measurements. ;-)

Other information will be provided in due course.

Based on yr bike' date=' you are more than welcome to join any time. When you go to Eastons and Sram, you might feel a little out of place. As for those times, I reckon you might find we are somewhat pedestrian for you.

2:27 Argus - full 110 or halfway time[img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley2.gif[/img]

Typo! Argus was 3:27.

Based on what I have read it seems like I will need to do lots of secret training to just keep up, especially on the steps!!

Way too fast for me, typo or not, I did 3:45.

As for the steps, you have lotsa competition to be the steps king of the south. Its not a title Slave would give up without a fight

The fact that he allowed some of the other group members to get to the top before him on saturday's ride, was just a good mannered gesture.....

3:45 is still a good time with the wind! I was so close to crashing on the descent from Chappies into Hout Bay.

I just know that lots of pain awaits me on the steps. But I will give it my best shot!

I also thought it was ok, I started back in S - then I met someone on the weekend who did a 3:40 from T, then I felt crap....., I did however finish 2nd in the group

Those are some respectable times there Andy. Now the question is, Why do you want to come and ride with a bunch of slowpokes like us? Trubies always been faster than he lets on and the Kid has got a lot faster than me, I'm definitely the slowpoke around the South unless we get some other visitors from up North.

We sometimes try and arrange "Special rides" so be on the lookout for those. Unless we do special rides, we usually just meet up with the usual bunch of suspects at the usual place at the usual time. Let us know when you plan to join us so we can give you our special southern welcome. We'll make sure GOv2.0 is around to give you the warm staircase "klap".

Friendly warning, do not insult his "Prince" though cause that is likely to lead to bloodshed and we have enough violence on TV, never mind the country.

Hey Trubie, sometimes you can be a little careless with the facts dude.

I will definitely defend this title of King of the Steps with all that I have but I can't help wondering how such a dubious title was bestowed upon me in the first place. Based on some recent payments to my account (Credits from Teazers and Lollipo lounge) I might be the prince of porn but king of the steps is something more suited to you at the mo'.

I'll have to try and pace for you so you can rest your legs and then give our new appilcant a proper introduction on how the steps get done.

Last weekend, I got kicked by Kids Kid, WW, teeny and BB. I will have to do some very secret training to get back some form.

Anyone into a SBR trundle next Saturday. Leave Bracken City at 8 and go and lay down a trail of blood in the reserve. Kid has some fascination with doing the berg. I have to try this SBR thing and see if the pain is really that intense.

I think Spaso9 will need to arrange his medical team so they can be on stand-by for me. Bring the crash cart, CPR, MRI Catscan etc. I'll make sure my med aid subs are up-to date. Oh and bring a glucose drip for me as well and maybe I'll have dire need of some EPO. Is a leg transplant do-able in a field hospital? I may need one or two of those. Maybe just a blonde gorgeous nurse for some chest massage is all I'll need. Nance and WW can sort out a leg massage.

Thanks Slave.

New scenery and roads to ride and also meet new people and other riders. Roads I normally ride are becoming a bit stale for me. I will be on the lookout for those special rides.

Yaaay!! I love this part of the job! smiley2.gif WW moans about doing it' date=' but I know that deep down she enjoys it too...

Quick update slave: Tried the tights (that fit this BIG bird) this morning.. I had the pleasure of meeting another MTB hubber who joined me for a ride over Northcliff hill.  They are Super cool! or is that hot [img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley5.gif[/img]  Anyway, I was warm as toast and would highly recommend them! smiley20.gif

Looks like I have some more Saturdays opening up.. My MTB buddy is dumping me for a few months while he finishes studying his honours, so you guys might see me there a bit more than once a month smiley4.gif

Yep. SBR on 06 June 2009.

I hope like h3ll my legs can recover in time for Fountains.

This will be my second ride in the reserve and the first was aborted halfway up the second climb. (It was way too hot, windy and downright unpleasant to face whole new worlds of pain.)

So this timeI go in without the car and driver to bail me out. Get there on own steam and get home on own steam = HUGE levels of pain.

And we do this for FUN????????????

Slave - that is a monster ride you're plannin'.

What time will you get to the Reserve? I'm there ready to ride at 7:20 (doors open at 7) & can try and join up with you (again). Anyone else who sees the lunacy of Slave's thinkin but would like to go round at a steady pace when his group gets there, is welcum to meet up in the car park with me.
