Hey Trubes. Congrats Bud. 1000 posts.

You getting to become quite the hub loadmouth. (Just like me.)smiley2.gifsmiley36.gif

Well done.

No, I just had to answer to all the chirps Kid posts, so that helped a lot to get to the mark. Me loud, never in yr life. You know I just shut up, pedal and suffer, thereafter I eat cause I'm hungry, pick up weight, pedal again, suffer more, and it just goes on and on and on...

But thanks, its been a pleasure!

You guys seem to have been quiet today?!

I did my first ride in a month today! Decided to go down to Meyerton and fetch my bike and then motorpace back to Glenvista! Ouch...made the 40km ride in 52minutes...and now I will be off the bike again for another month due to over doing it!

Its funny...as soon as the TDF is on, guys seem to want to ride more! Saw a few fellow bikey's out there on the ride this afternoon...all of whom looked very Tour De Francey!

Slave...let me know when to notify you regarding the Comaro session?!

Trubes, seems you get it from all sides. When the kid is not chirping you, then it's ususally some other ijit.smiley2.gif

GOv2.0, I went out and had a very embarrassing session on Camaro yesterday.smiley9.gif Almost got to the top (maybe ten / twenty meters to go) and fell off my bike. WTF? Don't ask how because I don't know how OK. It just happened. Eish. If I wasn't so tired it might have been hilarious, but there I sat, waiting to get my breath back.

Only thing that hurt is my ego. Small scratch on left knee and small scratch on my crank arm. smiley7.gif The knee will heal but now I have a scratch on my bike and that hurts most. And don't bother trying to tell me it gives the bike character. There is no such thing. A scratch is a scratch.

I was seriously miffed with myself. So I just went back down to the bottom, turned around and went at it again, this time all the way to the top. I was so tired I had to stop for a week to rest, before going back home again after that. Took the long scenic road home via Laubscher and Klipriver. At this point, I was far too tired and miffed to try Pieter Ackroyd.

Looks like I get the "pink blouse of the week" award.

Slave, maybe I should just shut my trap and keep quiet. That way no-one will have anything to chirp about/slant me or.... But then again, what fun would that be?

No comment on the fall. The effort to go up twice needs to be applauded

Seems the TDF is also good for yr motivation

Owl - why oh why would someone who hasnt ridden for a month be prepared to put himself through that much pain?

Or was it just to put into perspective both Slave and my rides at SH this weekend? Ok, so you've proved yr pointsmiley2.gif

Welcome back.

Youre so right Trubes, what fun indeed? Part of the the fun of the hub is to "chirp" each other although there are some times when it can be a bit OTT. I am expecting a serious drubbing for my fall. School fees as some say.

Dude, I am not even watchin TDF so I have no idea of where this motivation (read as stooooopidity) to climb Camaro comes from. Must have been you motivating me. It takes me ten years to do it twice and then I do it 4 times inside a month. Now I know I'm certifiable.

Any volunteers for the padded cell next to mine?

GO, I am ready to hurt you on Camaro any time dude. It may hurt a bit if I try again today but pain is temporary, right? Personally, I'm with Trubie this time. What insanity is this motor-pacing stuff? From Meyerton to Glenvista! (Djys seker smiley35.gif laf.)( read as you are surely mad.)

Respect for being able to do that but angaaz on the "wisdom". After three weeks off the bike, you should have maybe just done a gentle "ease into it" ride".

Maybe we should make it even more fun and wager a bet or two on who will be first to chirp you about the "mishapp"

Nahhh, Trubes, the Kid will never do that! Him, chirp me about falling, NEVER.

He is going to chirp about me wanting to hurt the bird man though. Make it a box of Astros it happens before chaieela time today. Two says he does it before lunch.

So who do you think will be the first to chirp me about the mishap?

You right the Kid would have been stone last on my list of possibilities

I was thinking more along the lines of someone like Thug or Ox.

But the hub's clattered with budgies, so anyone of the 263 online at the mo, is in the running

Ox is very quietly working and getting on with his job right now so I think he's last on my list of suspects. Apparently he is doing secret training for some upcoming dualthlons.

Thug, I would never suspect. TNT, yes and maybe Delgado. Birdman doesn't chirp too much about stuff like this. He just sagely shrugs and says "School fees dear boy, school fees!".

But the list of possibilities is big. Depends on how popular this thread is and who reads this drivel.

Maybe Andy will be the first one to take a swipe at it. Narco and shiny small cattle seem to have gone MIA.

BB is a reasonably hot suspect. Maybe he will offer me the "pink blouse award" for the month.

Or maybe ShawnA, but he's also very quiet. It's the quiet ones you have to worry about.

Kid actually asked me to do Camaro twice (once for him so he can have the incomplete effort.) I'll take the complete one.

I still have to get brave (or is that stoopid) enough to do Camaro and Peiter Ackroyd.

So have you tried you new gearing for Camaro yet?

No, will give it a go next wed if the 5am group allows me back in after my extended absence

But will feel it out tmrw morning up Voortrekker

Seems everyone is too damn scared to chirp you anyway - must be because they worrying about the hub ride through the reserve

That 5 am gang are probably wondering if you still have a bike. Maybe they gonna beat you senseless for dropping them.

After all that hard work to break into the gang and get an invite. They are probably the moer-in with you. Best slink back there with helmet in hand and tail between legs and beg forgiveness. Maybe they will see reason and allow you to go back and play some more.

I think I may decide to bunk out early today and go and do some intervals. Maybe GOv2.0 will be kind enough to come and coach me on some speed tactics and how to intervals. (IF he can walk after yesterday.)

Slave, how could you just fall off the bike??? You sure you didn't hit anything or see a nice lady in a passing car? smiley2.gif

Well done in the race Trubie and Slave! For me it was TdF or race and TdF won!

When is this nice ride in the reserve? I can't wait for it again?

Trubie, you doing Walkerville MTB race on Sunday?

Andy, dude, at the time it was frikking easy. I have been trying to work it out in my head to find out how and why. Zip, nada, no reason I can fathom. Not even a nice chicka in a passing car.

I was so busy looking down at the wheel and watching the seat pour off, that I was oblivious to anything except the pain and the heaving chest. Maybe I just wanted a rest so bad, I subconciously though that bailing was easier. The only thing I hit was the curb first (scratched my crank) and then the pevmunt. All I could think of on th way down was why did I loose my balance and then why could I not unclip fast enough to avert disaster.

Seems yesterday was my day for clumsiness because I almost bliksemed over when I was putting my noisy parrot to bed and I wasn't even on the bike then. Go figure.

If you are keen to do hills again, Delgado and his gang of water bottle boys are doing the reserve every weekend until the Jock. Sure they will be happy for you to join them. For a small fee, I can be persuaded to go along for a ride in the reserve.

Let me know if you are looking for a ride partner. Can't get the same speed as Trubie but I have an idea that next time I go, I want to do more than one lap, but not quite 2. Maybe do that first hill again and go roght at the top instead of left and go around that section again.

The race was over long before TDF started, you lazy butt

Missed you though!

I will prob be going there either 18th/25th, will check when friend Russ is available.

No man, how do you expect an unexperienced MTB rider like me take on a monster such as the Walkerville?

I am planning on riding out there with another hubber on the MTB to be a spectator only. You riding it?
