Slave, couldn't you have clipped the pavement with your pedal causing you to bail?

Trubie, TdF coverage started at 12:00. I was on the indoor trainer for 2 hours while watching it though.

 

Is it a monster? Oh damn! Reason I am doing it is because I was roped in to do the Magalies 3 day  mtb race in August by a friend who only does mtb in the winter and refuses to ride on the road. That same one we chatted about in SBR that persuaded me to do that race just after 94.7 last year. If you do go watch it would be cool to meet up at the finish. Usual red helmet and CLab kit. Silver hardtail bike.

 

Plan to do SBR on 18th.

Hey Trubes, I will try to get my hands on that Hybrid and see if I can ride there with you to watch. What date and time? Saturday or Sunday. I am not into another frozen outing so if it's very early and cold, I will stay home.

 

I'm still in therapy after the WWRR. According to the shrink,my brain's still frozen and not allowing the messages to get through.

 

So, SBR on 18th, sounds cool, can I come along too?

Yip I am riding the 60, no laps. Jules rode it on a cyclocross bike so you'll be fine on a hybrid - or maybe not ...... he's a monster on a bike!

The plan is to ride to Walkerville with Obelix. As long as you have nobbly's on the hybrid it should be ok.

Dont know the route or have any idea of what the terrain looks like.

pm Obelix (droodt)/Druid and find out about the route and what time he plans on riding. Ok I 'll send him a mail now and cc you.

He hasnt confirmed yet, but it was the plan on monday evening.

Not quite into racing MTB style but it could be fun to go offraod for a bit.

Yip! But I roped him in to hit the bumps in France next year with me! Hehehe.

You fell off the bike Slave? I know there are Bears that lurk there on Comaro...been attacked by a few on my efforts up there! They jump on you and sink their claws into your back and try pull you backwards! So maybe it was one of the bears that caused you to tumble?!

Dude it happens to us all...I rode into a stationary car once going up Biggarsberg! I was sucking air so badly and focusing on the front hub that I did not see the stationary car...BOOMF! Although I just came to an abrupt stop, and fell to the ground...the ego most certainly came off worse! So I share your slice of humble pie!

 

As for the motorpacing incident...I had this grandiose plan for riding behind the missus in the Volvo...I think it had something to do with the fact the TTT was taking place around the same time in France and I was feeling in a speedy mood! Gonna make it a weekly thing...Slave your welcome to join!

RIGHT! I can't even go fast enough to stay on the bike and you want me to chase a car? I guess it has reverse. Maybe then I can keep up. Think Mrs Owl will fall asleep behind the wheel if she had to wait for me while motorpacing and the fall off the car.

 

Sounds like something I might try one day.

 

Had a better session on the bike yesterday. According to a schedule I got a while backit calls for intervals. 3 x 1 Minute with ten minutes rest between. Managed to do a bt more than 3 with only four minutes rest between.

 

Pretty good ride and strangely enough, I enjoyed it, solo. AND I NEVER FELL OFF.

 

So Delgado, we will be riding around SBR on the 18th thinking of you doing the Jock. Give it stick and enjoy.
